ESSENTIAL SAFETY INSPECTION

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION

Locate VIN data plate and record VIN

Locate RVIA seal and record number

Identify brand and model of RV

Identify date of manufacture

LIFE SAFETY ITEMS

Test exterior of the unit (walls, doors, handles, frames) for hot skin, which could cause electrical shock

Test for LP gas leaks

Test all interior and exterior GFCI circuits

Test all interior wall receptacles

Verify all emergency exit windows operate properly

Verify that all fire extinguishers are securely mounted and fully charged and date documented

Test and verify operation and document expiration date of smoke detectors

Test and verify operation and document expiration date of carbon monoxide detectors

Test and verify operation and document expiration date of LP gas detector

Verify the rubber grommet is in good condition and is properly sealed around LP gas line to water heater

Visually inspect all hoses and pressure regulators for damage/deterioration

ASME tank (if equipped) visually inspect the tank for rust or physical damage and verify manufacture date

CHASSIS AND UNDERCARRIAGE

Operate and evaluate turn signals, running lights and DOT lights

Visually inspect battery compartment

Visually inspect batteries and electrical connections

Visually inspect undercarriage for rust, damage and excessive fluids leaking

120 VOLT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

Inspect and evaluate the condition of the power cord and connection

Access and inspect 120 volt circuit breaker box for condition of wiring, circuit breaker and grounding connections

12 VOLT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

Evaluate the age, condition and size of batteries

Access and visually inspect the wiring, fuse panel and fuses of 12 volt system

TIRES

Identify brand, size, DOT date and maximum air pressure

Test air pressure

Visually inspect and evaluate tire condition and tread condition

Report will include 20-30 color photos
